AL XLPE CABLE

CU XLPE Cable Applications:

AL XLPE Cable Advantages
Aluminum is a lightweight, low-cost material with good conductivity. Our Al XLPE cable is especially suitable for long-distance high-voltage power transmission and distribution systems.
Ligh weight material
The density of aluminum is 2.7 g/cm3 (copper 8.96 g/cm3 ). For the same conductivity, aluminum XLPE cables weigh approximately 40%-50% less than copper XLPE cables. Using aluminum conductor XLPE cables can greatly reduce transportation and installation costs.
High cost-effectiveness
Aluminum is cheaper than copper. For example, in February 2026, the price of aluminum in London was USD 3119/ton, while the price of copper in London was USD 13363/ton.
High conductivity-to-weight ratio
AL XLPE cable has a high conductivity-to-weight ratio. That means when the current is the same, the weight of the AL XLPE cable is much lower than that of copper cable.
Durable material
Aluminum reacts with oxygen to produce a thin film of aluminum oxide. This aluminum oxide film protects the underlying aluminum. Therefore, aluminum conductors are corrosion-resistant and more durable.
More current
XLPE insulation can withstand more current than PVC, PE, PUR, etc.
Good high temperature performance
AL XLPE cable has good performance for the long term when the temperature reaches 90℃
Good chemical resistance
