What is PVC cable?

Control cables are low-voltage cables used to transmit signals, data, and power in industrial manufacturing plants, power plants, mining plants, and commercial facilities.

PVC cable is an electrical cable with PVC insulation or PVC sheath. PVC is an ideal material for insulation and sheath due to its good flexibility, chemical resistance, and cost-effectiveness. Our PVC electrical cables are widely used for power supply, power distribution, building wiring, automatic control, and underground installation in low- and medium-voltage systems.

Both PVC insulation and XLPE insulation are widely used for electrical cables. XLPE insulation can be used for low-voltage, medium-voltage, and high-voltage cables. PVC insulation can only be used for low voltage ( up to 0.6/1kV) cables. XLPE insulation has better high temperature performance; the maximum allowable long-term working temperature of XLPE insulation can be 90 ℃. The maximum allowable long-term working temperature of PVC insulation is 70 ℃.

The standard PVC cable temperature range is -20 ℃ to 70 ℃. Standard PVC electric cables can continue to operate long-term within this temperature range. The maximum long-term permissible temperature of our heat-resistant type PVC power cables is 90℃, such as H07V2-K and H05V2V2-K.
